Maui Housing Hui’s preliminary survey confirms a severe housing crisis impacting residents, especially renters, exacerbated by the August 2023 wildfires. Many community members report high housing costs, instability, and fears of displacement. The findings emphasize the urgent need for comprehensive housing solutions and protections to help residents remain in their communities.
